try it: Pura D'or

I love love love trying products out (especially bath and beauty products). Also, I have slowly been becoming a huge Argan Oil fan.  Luckily for me, the Pura D'Or team was extremely kind enough to send over a complimentary package for me to try out.

First off, didn't really know much about Pura D'or but after doing a bit of research I found out that there's quite a few things to love about the brand. All of their products are certified organic, so this means no harmful chemicals that are often found in many mainstream bath and beauty brands. I'm a sucker for reasonably priced, high quality organic products and for brands that have a genuine love for sustainability and being green/eco-friendly altogether.

Anyway, enough about me gushing over Pura D'or (BUT if you want to know more about this brand head on over to their website at www.purador.com) I'm gonna go right ahead and talk about the stuff that I got to test out.

Pura D'or Argan Oil Premium Organic Shampoo (Hair Loss Prevention Therapy)

Personally, I have super thick Asian hair... and it's been like that since I was a kid. That being said though, I also happen to shed A LOT. At one point (and maybe a couple of other times), I've clogged my shower drain because of the amount of hair I was losing while in the shower. I've been using this shampoo for about a week now and I don't think it's a substantial amount of time for me to determine if my shedding has significantly decreased. BUT I do have to comment on how great this leaves my hair right after a shower. Recently, my hair's been a little limp and dry (mainly because I think I have pretty damaged/color-treated hair) but this stuff makes my hair super soft and makes it even look super hydrated. Not sure if its the side effect of awesome organic ingredients or my hair just really like the formulation of this stuff. It also makes my hair feel more thick (but not heavy) and volumized which I really really like! Plus, the shampoo scent isn't overpowering at all and is actually a bit citrus-y. I will definitely continue using this and see how much it really improves my whole shedding dilemma. Final verdict? I think I like this product enough that I went ahead and suggested for my mom to try it out, lol.

Pura D'or Argan Oil Premium Organic Conditioner (Lavender Vanilla)

This stuff is really really good to my hair. First off, not only does this conditioner smell AMAZING (like a super sweet dessert) but it also makes my hair super soft and shiny. The formulation is super light and not like a thick conditioner, so it's really easy to massage into your hair and scalp and rinses real quick.

Pura D'or Argan Oil

Like I said, I am starting to become obsessed with Argan Oil, also I love the size of this bottle (4oz) because I actually have started to carry it around in my purse. I've been using it non-stop on my lips and on my face as an evening moisturizer. This is also great for my hands, especially because this east coast winter is drying me out so much. Recently, i've been mixing in a few drops of this with my regular body lotion, and it really has worked wonders on my skin. I'm less dry and it's reduced the ashiness of my skin (especially my legs and arms). Safe to say, Argan oil has been a savior for my skin, nails, and hair this winter.

Overall, really loving this stuff and would recommend this to friends. I think organic beauty brands are so underrated and this is definitely a brand that's worth a try.

try it: Reese's Spreads

Chocolate is definitely one of the best foods out there, at least in my opinion... but I mean, who would really disagree with me on that one?

BUT Reese's Spreads are just something completely different guys. I didn't really know what to make out of the idea of peanut butter flavored chocolate spread... Like, I definitely got confused. All I know is, it is AHHmazing (that a couple days later, the jar was completely empty... with the help of my little brother, who is now obsessed with it).

I'm sure y'all are way more creative than me when it comes to the food department, but here are some awesome pairings to try with your Reeses's Spread if you haven't already:

1. Bread

- Just like how you would pair hazelnut spread with your bread and maybe top it off with some bananas :)

2. Fruits

- Apples, bananas, strawberries, you name it! This stuff goes so well with so many fruits. YUMMM

3. Hot chocolate

- Get creative with your hot chocolate. Add a couple spoonfuls of your Reese's Spread into your hot coco and prepare for the peanut butter chocolatey goodness. (If you want to be REALLY creative, top it off with some jet puffed marshmallows and pop it in the oven to broil #SOGOOD)

4. Crackers

- Just dip away ladies and gents. This is bound to become your go-to easy/lazy snack.

5. Salted Pretzels

- It's like having chocolate covered pretzels but with a hint of peanut butter. Such a great combo.

6. Bagels

- I mean this isn't really that creative, but I happen to enjoy slathering my Reese's Spread onto a slightly toasted bagel. #nomnomnom

Anyway, definitely get a hold of a jar of #ReesesSpreads and test it out. I promise you, it will not disappoint.

everyone always raves about argan oil

I never really got into the whole hype about oils... like coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, argan oil, rose oil, etc. Even though I always read such great reviews, I've always steered clear because I always have had this weird misconception of ending up looking like a complete greaseball if I ever used any of it.

But oh boy, was I soooo wrong.
So I was lucky enough to be offered by InstaNatural to review some of their best selling argan oil products, and of course I was obviously all up on that (#freebies duh!). But seriously from the moment they got in contact with me, up until when I received the products, everything was just handled so smoothly. After shipping the products they even went out of their way to send me some suggestions/instructions on the best way to use their products. Which I promise you I definitely needed... because other than for cooking, I'm not really quite sure what else I can do with oils.

InstaNatural was kind enough to send me the following items to test out:

1. Argan Oil Hair Mask

product page: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MNK9R5Y
This guys is THE bomb. Since I have no experience with argan oil, I wasn't expecting this to smell SO GOOD!

The consistency of this reminds me so much of Organix's Brazilian Keratin Therapy hair mask. It seems easy enough to use in my opinion. I've used it twice since I received it and it leaves my hair super soft. It also makes my hair a bit shinier and healthier looking. It's pretty noticeable since I consider my hair to be pretty damaged and a bit dry. Overall, this is a really good deep-conditioning treatment to try out.

2. Pure and Organic Argan Oil

As you've probably already guessed, I had NO CLUE about how to get started with my bottle of argan oil (btw, shout out to InstaNatural for their huge 4 fl. oz bottle!). However, before my package arrived, the InstaNatural team was kind enough to send me some suggestions on using argan oil. Pretty much found out that this stuff is good for almost anything and everything.

They suggested 7 ways to use InstaNatural's 100% Pure Argan Oil, and those were the following:
  • Leave-in conditioner (haven't tried this one out yet... mainly because I have naturally oily hair and I'm a bit weary of putting any oils in my hair)
  • Frizz remover (like I said, a bit weary of putting it in my hair)
  • Moisturizer (I was very surprised at how non-greasy this is on my face. I use about one to two drops for my entire face, and voila! Works like a charm. I was seriously expecting to look like a grease ball after using this on my face, but that really wasn't the case. As far as my skin being sensitive goes, this stuff is not irritating AT ALL. It's always scary trying new products on my face, but this is so worth it.)
  • Lip exfoliator and softener (I think by far, this is my favorite use for argan oil. I think I have perpetually dry/chapped lips, but this stuff does magic. After, I think, 2 days of using this on my lips, I could already tell a difference. I will definitely keep using this stuff so my lips are always hydrated... and hopefully won't be chapped ever again!)
  • Hair / Scalp Treatment (I have really dry patches on my scalp that are sometimes super itchy so I tried putting a small amount of argan oil on the dry areas of my scalp a couple of times right before going to sleep. This really relieves the itch and from what I can tell, it's reduced the dryness on my scalp... which is pretty amazing)
  • Face Mask (I have yet to try this out, but I am super excited!)
  • Nail Care - (I have pretty thick nails, but they do have the tendency to break. I've used this a couple times on my nails but not enough to notice much of a difference with my nails. However, it has done wonders on my cuticles... so there's that)

After trying argan oil out, I did a bit of research on argan oil products and found out that it's really hard to find 100% pure argan oil. Often the amount of argan oil in products aren't even enough for it's active ingredients to do anything noticeable. That being said, InstaNatural's stuff is as pure as it gets.

Final verdict: AMAZING (especially as a moisturizer for skin and lips)

3. Age-Defying Skin Clearing Serum

product page: http://amzn.com/B00NY5NGPE
This stuff, I honestly no qualms with. It's the type of product that takes a while for you to really notice substantial results. That being said though, this is some powerful stuff.  It contains 20% Vitamin C, 2.5% Retinol, 2% Salicylic Acid, Vitamin B3 and Tea Tree Oil. In my opinion, this product is definitely for me since I have really problematic skin that's prone to blemishes and scarring. I've used it a couple of times during the nighttime so I'm excited to see how powerful this stuff really is. Definitely suggest moisturizing after using it though since It's a teeny bit drying (probably because of the Retinol). But other than that, it's non-irritating (no redness or flaking), even on super sensitive skin like mine, so that's definitely a plus.

On top of these pretty awesome products, I also found out that InstaNatural is cruelty free! So that's definitely a huge plus.

InstaNatural is definitely a must try beauty product line, especially if you feel like you need to spruce up your skin care regimen.
