So obviously I have no idea where I'm going with this, but first and foremost, happy happy new year! (I know, I'm a bit late)
As per usual, I go on for long periods of time being m.i.a. away from the blog and then I always come barging right in with new ideas, new pursuits, and a new point of view on things. I've honestly just been doing a lot of thinking in the past few months about where I am currently at this point in time, post grad life, and professional growth.
But for today, I think I just want to touch on a few things that's been on my mind (about life, work, the new year, personal growth etc.) and some personal mantras that I, personally, think are important.
1) NEVER (ever, ever, ever) settle. Whether it be a job opportunity, an apartment, a car, or a new pair of boots, never ever settle just because you think you've run out of options, you feel something's a safe bet, or simply 'just because.'
2) Comfort zones are nonexistent. Nothing happens in your comfort zone. Because when there's no challenge and things are always easy, there's zero growth. This applies to everything. Personal growth, your social life, or professional endeavors.
3) Find something you're really passionate about. In a world where it seems like you're being dictated what to do, learn to carve your own path. There's nothing worse than being a zombie, stuck at your 9-to-5 gig, and sitting behind a crummy old desk when you're not doing something that your passionate about (or something that you're even remotely interested in)
4) Plans don't always work. I've always been one to plan anything and everything ahead, but sometimes it's nice to live in the moment and deal with things one day at a time.
5) DO YOU. F*ck what anyone else says/thinks/does. Everyone has an opinion, but that's exactly what it is, just someone else's opinion.
